About Me

I spend most of my time hanging around Kilburn and Camden, pretty much in the vicinity of Chalk Farm, with the odd excursion down to the Victoria at Mornington Crescent. The Enterprise is my fav pub, though the Dublin Castle comes pretty close, if only it weren't so hot in the summer. Downtown, I've recently discovered he Phoenix, behind Oxford Circus, which is dead good. A great Friday night downstairs n all. Endurance in Soho is a goodie.
I used to like having smug breakfasts on Sunday or Saturday morning in West Hampstead, normally La Brioche or the Wet Fish Cafe. Actually not the Wet Fish, because last time I was there the chorizo and scrambled egg was bland as hell and the Spinach and Ricotta tart thing just dire. Now a no go zone. Now I prefer non smug breakfast in Kilburn, which are much better and easier on teh wallet. Non Camden evenings are taken up with trips to openings and exhibitions, usually The Serpentine or the Whitechapel Gallery, but occasionally the V&A or the Tate or the John Soane or something. When I'm not out and about I like to sit around reading or watching useless shows on TMF. And I like making my own iced coffee, but can rarely be bothered to do so.
And I'm sort of obsessed with Guitar Hero 2, which is brilliant. I'm stuck on the last bunch of songs on the 'hard' setting though. I love 'Crazy on You' by Heart and 'Carry on Wayward Son' by Kansas.
But more than all this, I like to sit on the bench by the church on Wardrobe Terrace with a pretty girl and drink red wine in the winter.

Books:

Anything by Hunter S Thompson, Bret Easton Ellis (except American Psycho - although, I recently read a very brief review of the movie in a TV guide which classed it as a comedy and have re-evaluated my stance. So much so that I bought the novel and am actually really looking forward to reading it and laughing a lot. Except on the killy bits, obviously. More on the yuppie bits I would imagine, many of which are too good to be true.), Paul Auster, Tom Wolfe, Peter Biskind, Melissa P, Fitzgerald and any stuff about LA, Hollywood or New York etc. Novel with Cocaine, Ask The Dust, Grapes of Wrath, Cannery Row, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Slave of New York, Day of the Locust, Tommyland(!), 'I, Fatty', Old Man and the Sea, Catcher in the Rye, Shoot Out, The Dirt, You'll Never Eat Lunch in this Town Again, BRIGHTNESS FALLS...
