Every great band has its humble beginnings and so does the story go for the band Missing Jimmy. Dreams began in a town called Beaverton, metro to Portland, Oregon, where a group of talented musicians came together with mutual visions of creating a band that will be highly successful at the same time very influential.
The orginal trio consisted of Mike Albertson, Ryan Custodio, and Robert Lathrop. Each member had its own unique past to accommodate their given talents to Missing Jimmy. Mike, who is the lead vocals and lead guitar of the band, had a previous stint with the band You, Me and Jimmy. After years of rocking out, You, Me, and Jimmy disbanded, leaving Mike yearning for more. Ryan, the bass guitarist, was also a member of a previous band called Milf which was located in Manila Philippines. After two years with Milf, Ryan moved back to the states for schooling. Robert, the percussions, for some time had volunteered for his local church to play the drums for services and other church funded festivities. He later left due to time constraints and better opportunities. During Mike's time in limbo between his old band and Missing Jimmy, he began to write songs and melodies that reflected his thoughts and life experiences. Having given Ryan and Robert a taste of what to come, Mike felt compelled to start off with the new band with real dreams. Hence Missing Jimmy was formed.
The trio had done numerous shows in its young lifetime and has been able to create a growing underground following. From show to show, Missing Jimmy was making a name for itself. Their style of play has expanded as of late and the more they play together, the more they have learned to create a more unique sound to call their own.
Most recently, the band had yet more fine tuning to do. In early September 2004, the band introduced Jerrod and Jason the new lead guitarist and keyboardist respectively. Jerrod has a vast background in music and has played for numerous bands beforehand. Before joining the band, Jason was already a close friend of the current members and was welcomed easily with open arms. Both have brought much sought after energy and sound that filled in many voids. Robert soon after left the band for personal reasons. On November 9th 2004, Missing Jimmy welcomed a new drummer (Stephen Wilson) that became the final piece in restructuring the band.
A new era in music has begun and I would like to be the first one to welcome you to the beginning of the Missing Jimmy Era.
