This is for you Kyle I'm glad you asked...
If you want to learn to be a racecar driver, it starts on a windey road with no one around. just you and any car with a manual transmission.1.Practice heal and toe downshifts at every stoplight until you are used to doing it with out thinking about it (you may need to buy some pedal pads; large plain ones work best).2. Look up! 200-300 yards ahead of you at all times, especially around the turns. Like heal n' toe this takes practice, most people never look more than 10 yards ahead of them!(Circular on-ramps on freeways are perfect) when you enter the turn you're already watching the exit out of the passenger window. your peripheral vision will take care of what's in front of you. This way you will know exactly where to push the throttle to exit the turn at full speed, safely.3. Apex! this does not mean ironing out the creases. Listen to the car and where it wants to transfer its weight, usually out-in-out on single turns but a bit different on links (multiple turns). You are already looking at the next turn, and anticipating where the weight will transfer and the correct speed and RPM you will be at.
Remember, don't over-think step 3, the human brain is the worlds most powerful computer; it will do the work for you after a little practice. Your job is to trust what your mind tells you and trust your cars capability. If you do this, after a while it will all be instinct and you will be at total peace behind any wheel on any road, any time. Not to mention you will be the safest driver on the road at any speed. Good luck!.
