You will sometimes come across a day which hacks away at your facade of sanity, grinding your shields down so far that you can glimpse the wet pink of the real you underneath.When you notice the leak in the casing of your outer shell, it is usually too late to do anything about it and the horrors of the outside world have already infected you.Today has been a trial in many ways. From waking up to this odd moment I find myself in, the day has been nothing short of torture.I feel cursed by the people I have to suffer each day, hordes of moaning, faceless creatures thumping their rattles against their cloven feet because they can't get what they want. The stupid, the imbecillic, the deranged and the plain pathetic.There are moments of bliss mixed in with the suffering, but they tend to be so fleeting that it just underlines how terrible the seconds either side of them are. They bring home the fact that what we see is but a surface, a fake outer layer hiding the pain and worry and sadness and longing that hides within every one of us.We endeavour to create more tiny moments of personal utopia, with trinkets and morsels we can scarcely afford or have use for, but they trick our minds into a euphoric state simply because they glitter to our senses.You will come across a day when your safe barrier comes crashing down and all that is left is the quivering mass of honest feelings that hides within us all.It may be almost unnoticeable to many of you, but it is there. The real you is not someone you would wish to know, and that undulating mass of wet pink that you try to pretend isn't there is always watching, laughing and mocking you for tricking yourself into believeing the lies you have created just to pass from one second to the next with some semblance of sanity intact.It is that sanity which is the greatest facade of them all.Balancing the symbiosis between you and YOU is a game that can drive even the most deluded people to an unpleasant brink.Sometimes, I quite like that brink
