About Me

Born in 19fucking57 in Hilversum, center of the universe, but run off to Amsterdam as soon as I could, but not before living in Israel for 1½ years. Coming back to Holland in 1980, Dutch uncle Sam (aunt Bea?) caught me and turned me into a real man... working as a nurse where soldiers had to come to have been taken care of their blisters, so I became sister blister and made the boys feeling very comfortable... What a lovely time...NOT! Now I work at the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam, where I head the communications department. Started there in 1987 as a guide during my study Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. At the same time I also worked as the night porter of the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten. After graduation I was offered a job at the educational department of the JHM and made programs for... can you believe it... children... Soon after that started organizing public programs that were very successful, so I could stay and created myself a steady job. In 2001 I took the opportunity to become head of the communications department. In the last week of my studies I met Taco... just in front of Bar April in the Reguliersdwarstraat (try to pronounce that). The love of my life! When his landlord kicked him out some 6 weeks after we met, we decided to live together. At first at my student apartment, after a year on the Overtoom where we still live. For the last 4 years with Robbie, our Weimaraner. I turned 50 in January, but hey, it is just a pretty number, I will certainly not live up to expectations and start wearing moccasins and dull suits (only fabulous ones of course)... I would really like to stay ...me, though some will find it hideous. Shut up and dance...
