Patrick Lehman

Patrick started singing in church at the age of 8 and took private piano and voice lessons, where his talent and musical tastes were honed and developed. Growing up as a teenager, he often took to skipping classes to stay home and riffle through his parents vast vinyl collection. It was then he developed a great love for classic soul, RnB, Jazz, rockn'roll and blues. Patrick was trained in classical voice at Vanier College's music department. While studying there, he gained invaluable experiences, including a singing spot in a rock band and performances at various hip hop and R n B shows, not to mention the usual classical recitals. It was at Vanier that Patrick decided to form a band to perform the songs that he'd been writing from the time of his youth. Once in University, Patrick was asked to perform at the Montreal International Jazz Festival's 2006 Big Event --- a Paul Simon Tribute Concert, featuring Daniel Lanois, Sam Roberts, Colin James, Elvis Costello, Jamie Cullum and others. The show, attended by 150,000 people, was subsequently broadcast on CBC television.Having performed all over Montreal and Toronto after releasing a four-song EP in 2006, Patrick Lehman and his band launched their first full length album to a packed house on May 27th 2007 at Petit Cafe Campus in Montreal. The album has received notable airplay across France, Quebec, Ontario, British Colombia, Vermont (US), and prompted Patrick to tour Ontario and Quebec in the summer of 2008 - finishing up the tour with performances in the FestiBlues 2008 and Montreal FunkFest 2008.Patrick has been working on his second album with notable Juno award winning producers, which is slated for a winter 2010 release. "Pain Free" and Stop Pretending", 2 new singles from the eagerly anticipated album, have already been generating alot of buzz amongst fans and industry proffesionals alike.Along with performing live on CTV as part of the 32nd Annual Telethon of the Stars, the song 'Stop Pretending' which Lehman wrote, arranged and produced, was placed in the TOP 5 of the Canadian Radiostar Songwriting Competition. Most recently, Patrick has signed on as a songwriter with the internationally known Bloc-Notes Publishing.
