Vampires are human corpses, whose soul is gone, inhabited by bodiless demons. To createor sirea vampire, the sire vampire bites its victim on the neck and then forces him or her to drink its blood. When a vampire is sired, it rises as an undead being after dusk the following evening. Vampires linked by blood can sense each others presence and can be psychically linked to dreams. While it is preferable, it is not necessary for the newborn vampire to be buried in dirt. The burial doesnt have to be in cemeteries, nor does the dirt need to be deep.Vampires senses are highly acute, surpassing that of a humans. They can sense magic, as well as subtle differences in humans other humans cant (i.e.: if a human has visions). Their sense of smell is so keen that they can tell the difference between a human and a non-human, determine if one has been feeding off of humans or vermin, and can smell fear, which is said to spice up the taste of blood.Upon feeding, a vampire turns physically warmer and it regenerates their agelessness. Usually, their low body temperature makes it impossible to detect them via infrared and other modern technological detection devices. Vampires healing factors are ten times more efficient than a humans. Their strength and speed is well beyond mortal norms. They appear to be human but in their true visages they have ridged brows, inhuman yellow eyes, and fangs. While they do not breathe, they can simulate breathing. The emotions and memories of their previously life as a human carryover into their undead life. Over a long period of time (centuries) vampires outgrow the curse of human features, transforming into the demon they carry inside. Though they do not cast a reflection, however, they can be photographed, filmed, and videotaped. They also cast shadows.Vampires cannot enter the private residence of a human without an invitation. If a human invites them over in the abstract sense, while not in their private residence, they can still enter. They can return any time they wish. However, there are spells that can revoke their invitation from entering private residences. Vampires can enter the private residence of a vampire or a demon without any invitation. While vampires can transverse on holy ground, it is very discomfiting for them. Also, contrary to popular belief, they do not sleep in a bed of their native soil. When killed, vampires turn to ash. They can be killed by fire and direct sunlight. They can also be killed via penetration of the heart by a wooden object, or by decapitation. They are harmed by holy water, which sears their skin, as well as crosses, a holy relic they also fear.Character Shown: AngelFirst Appearance: Episode 1, Season 1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Van-TalsVampires are known as Van-tals in Pylea. On this world, they do not burn in the sunlight and they cast a reflection. However the demon within comes out in its purest form, not looking remotely human, possessing a gray-green leathery hide with bony outthrust protrusions jutting from their faces. Every last veneer of humanity is stripped away; they cannot speak, nor do they recognize people they encounter in their human form. They are attracted to blood even more fiercely than on Earth. Further, their strength in Pylea is greater than on Earth. Like humans, their hearts can be found in their chests and not their rumps.Character Shown: Pylean Angel BeastFirst Appearance: Episode 21, Season 2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vinji & Sahrvin LeadersTwo demon clans equally superstitious and concerned with etiquette, they went to war when the Vinji used the wrong fork in a Sahrvin bonding ceremony and offence was taken. The conflict lasted for five generations but with the work of demon rights activist Tobias DuPree the rival clans agreed to peace negotiations, to be presided over by Wolfram and Hart. Both highly vicious species, they took the death of Tobias before the peace talks as a bad omen, demanding vengeance and the sacrifice of either the killer or a Wolfram and Hart employee before they would proceed with negotiations. Research indicates that camel meat is considered a delicacy by the clans, the carcass to be ripped apart by the demons when eating. The Vinji have a humanoid appearance with blue skin and ridged foreheads; they also wear orange headscarves. The Sahvrin also have human like bodies and ridged faces but are distinguished by their dark skin, grey turbans, white pustules around the eyes and long tentacle like growths from their chins.Character Shown: Vinji & Sahrvin leadersFirst Appearance: Episode 9, Season 5 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wraither DemonThese creatures take over the bodies of humans but can only pass for them for a short period of time before they resume their demonic appearance. Some are relatively mindless and controlled by the source that resurrected it, while others have free will and retain their feelings and memories they had during their previous life as a human. While bullets dont stop zombies, decapitation has been proven to. Also, if zombies are resurrected via a talisman, once the talisman is smashed, they cease to exist.Character Shown: Officer Peter HarkesFirst Appearance: Episode 14, Season 2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the end
