January 13th 2009 - Funeral In Heaven is proud to announce the release of the Demo Single 'JanaaniJanmabhumisca Svargadapi Gariyasi'.
The track is a narration inspired by the famous 'Vijitha Pura Satana' (Duttagamini(161-137BC)-Elara war) and dedicated to the 10 of the greatest warriors in Sri Lankan history; Nandhimitra,Suranimala, Bharana Mahasona, Theraputtabhya, Gotahbaya, Gotaimbara, Vasabha, Velusumanaand Phussadeva. This is also the slowest of our compositions so far, which also lyrically carriesSanskrit text. This track is one of the many chapters from the concept debut album, which isfocused on primarily the war, The ambiances conjured were under a specific theme and concept, the commencement and ending of the great 'Vijitha Pura Satana'. Soundscapes havebeen used according to the authentic chronicle, ex.- The 'catura?ga senawa' whichliterally translates to the four divisions of the army, 'ath, as, riya, paabala' (elephants, infantry, chariots, cavalry).
'Janani Janmabhumisca Svargadapi Gariyasi' was recorded at Empyre Studios, mixed andmastered by Rogger Schales (Empyre Studios).
The band is currently working on Original material to be released on the debut album which isexpected in 2009.
February 03, 2009 - The Winds Of Uva (Depictions of an Aficionado) - Amila Galapaththi has put together a fucking amazing video of Funeral In Heaven's live performance at 'Silent Night Chaos Night' along with a couple of other animated visuals and photographs with the purpose of emphasizing the message of the song, The Winds Of Uva
This video was completely edited by Amila and he indeed has done a great fucking job on it! We of Funeral In Heaven are euphoric about the connection which is visible here between the listener/fan and the band. The visual images and graphics he has used to emphasize his own version of the picture he drew for himself inspired by the lyrics, music and theme are just fucking amazing. Every single image he has used (chintzy or non we don't care) symbolizes his own thoughts which almost completely resembles our own when we created this song. This release is a complete dedication to Amila Galapaththi.
The song is in memory of:
Keppetipola, the former Dissawe of Uva
Godagedara, former Adikaram of Uva
Ketakala Mohottala of Uva
Maha Betmerala of Kataragama in Uva
Kuda Betmerala of Kataragama in Uva
