About Me

Claudio Fiore, (Claud Fiore) born in London, 1969 . Played the drums since I was eleven on and off, more on nower days and for the past 15 years or so!. You do the math! I have always been interested in music due to my brother (the musician of the family). Remo Fiore (my brother) now plays hand percussion for a band in Italy. It was him who first gave me the chance to "have a bash" on his drums. I soon after took up guitar, but realised that my chubby fingers were simply not suited to it. The drums were really what I was interested in. I spent many days listening to The Police and Level 42 (amoungst lots of other things) where the rhythms really "got my juices flowing"! I love the complexities and also the simplicity of African rhythms and Asian rhythms, infact any rhythm at all, and realised that there is where my passion lay! So...
What I do
I'm a drummer / solo artist, making generally electronic / ambient music. I play a Roland V-Drums kit and do midi music production / recording. I was kind of forced into the electronic kit mainly due to lack of space for my 7 piece acoustic setup. And I have never regretted moving over. I must admit though, as soon as I have the space I'll be integrating my Roland setup into an acoustic setup again to get back into the feel of a natural sound. Diversity is the answer here!
My playing style varies based upon what I am doing at the time. Basic styles are Funk, Fusion, Jazz, Rock and a combination of them all!
I'm Currently laying down some drums for a band called FoolsGrace... Check them out FOOLSGRACE (myspace.com/foolsgrace).

More about me...
I started playing drums when I was about 11 years old (a long time ago) and the real inspiration came from listening to The Police, and the syncopated rhythms of Stewart Copeland. I regularly listen to all The Police albums without which my record collection would be incomplete! Also Brand X, Phil Collins in his early days. One of my favorite tracks is called "Nuclear Burn" by Brand X (Album: Unorthodox Behaviour) drums by Phil Collins. Some real amazing drumming and playing. I only wish I was as good as some of the great drummers in my influences list. But as I always say, you're never too old to improve. Here's to hope!!!
In 2005 I finally purchased " Buddy Rich's Modern Interpretation of Snare Drum Rudiments " and going through this book on a daily basis practicing my rudiments has improved my drumming immensely! Recommended for any drummer, weathered or new starter.

Steve Gadd - Drum Solo:

(1987) Zildjian Day:

And thus I clothe my naked villainy
With old odd ends, stol'n forth of holy writ;
And seem a saint, when most I play the devil.
William Shakespeare:

I hate ingratitude more in a man
than lying, vainness, babbling, drunkenness,
or any taint of vice whose strong corruption
inhabits our frail blood.
William Shakespeare:

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.
Sir Winston Churchill:

SQUIRRELSOUNDS PRODUCTION:

Random Blurbs...:

Rhythm : (Greek = 'flow', or in Modern Greek, 'style') is the variation of the length and accentuation of a series of sounds or other events. "Rhythm involves patterns of duration that are phenomenally present in the music" with duration perceived by interonset interval (London 2004, p.4). When governed by rule, it is called meter. It is inherent in any time-dependent medium, but it is most associated with music, dance, and the majority of poetry.

Drumming : . If it wasn't for playing the drums, I think I might go completely and utterly mad. Feeling stressed, play the drums, need to let out some emotion... you guessed it, play the drums. If you can't play the drums, play the drums, if you can play the drums, then play the drums. And just when you think you've played enough... PLAY SOME MORE!

Sounds Like: Whatever!
