LeeFest, as it is now named for the second straight year, is held each summer in the Colorado mountains in memory of our friend Lee. For many years Lee used to host a big annual summer party at his place on Yegge Peak, and it was called YeggeFest, YeggeStock, etc. It was moved one year to another location and that year it was called NOY (Not On Yegge.) You get the picture. As we were getting ready for YeggeRoo 2007, Lee unexpectedly passed away and we decided that it would from then be known as LeeFest. That's what a great guy Lee was and we will continue this event in his spirit. He was a great music fan so music will always be a big part of LeeFest. This year we're going to try to make it a more interactive experience with lots to do in addition to the music. Bring the family and let's create a little paradise up in the hills for a weekend!
For the second consecutive year the festival will be held at Van Eden Ranch near Idaho Springs. This is a lovely piece of property surrounded by 10,000 acres of National Forest. Please show respect for the land and landowners and leave nothing but footprints. Camping areas are everywhere and we will have a detailed map of the area available soon. This year will feature a new covered outdoor stage where the bands will be performing, rain or shine. We will also have non-music activities and stuff for kids to do, in addition to some new art installments. If you want to get involved with the "artsy" side of LeeFest, message us and we'll let you know how to get involved. Be prepared for any kind of weather - and we mean anything - rain, snow, sleet, sun, wind, hot, cold and everything in between.
Tickets are now on sale from Stork or various band members. Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 the week of the show.
