Let me tell you about me.Well First off My name is Kara Zor-El aka(Supergirl).I am Superman's cousin from Argo City, Krypton.I was only 15 when she first landed on Earth.
On Earth, like any Kryptonian survivor, I acquired super-powers identical to Superman's.I adopted the secret identity of Linda Lee, a mild-mannered orphan at the Midvale Orphanage, concealing my blond hair beneath a brown wig and functioning as Supergirl only in secret . My super-human powers manifested themselves shortly after my arrival. While playing softball with a few other girls in the orphanage play-ground, I saw a thug trying to mug someone. I ran to the aid of the victim, and the mugger attempted to stab me. His knife bent against my Kryptonian-hard skin. I was able to handle the mugger like a rag doll. Fortunately things happened quickly enough that my friends didn't realize quite what had happened.As Linda , I was adopted by the Danver’s family; Fred and Edna Danvers. I attended Midvale High School as Linda Lee Danvers, graduated and left home to attend Stanhope College on a scholarship. I graduated college and held down a number of jobs, including actress and news reporter. During this time, I was constantly in awe of my older cousin. I am fully aware that my cousin Superman is secretly Clark Kent. Like all Kryptonian survivors I am also vulnerable to Kryptonite.
My alternate identity is closely held secret, but it is known to Superman, to my foster parents, the Danverses, and to the Legion of Super-Heroes, of which I was a member until resigning at the age of twenty one. I had a brief romance with Brainiac 5, and juggled several beaus like Jerro and Dick Malverne, a former fellow orphan.“Physically, I am the mightiest female of all time! But at heart, I as gentle and sweet and as quick to tears as any ordinary girl! I guess that's why everyone who meets me loves me!â€
My super-powers are similar to Superman. I have a typical Kryptonian super-skill. I can fly, fire beams of heat from my eyes, lift immense amount of mass, use my super-breath to blow heavy things around as if they were leaves, and possess superhuman speed, strength, invulnerability and abilities. I decided to use my powers for good - the values of the Sanctity of Life, the duty to help others who cannot help themselves, and never tell lies, were instilled on me as a child in Argo City. I will live up to them on Earth, and use my powers to stop crime and defend the innocent.
