LOBO EL REFUERZO
El Refuerzo, when translated into English, means the Enforcer. This name was earned by Raul, while doing what he does best in enforcing a fierce performance while making people really enjoy his music. Whether it’s on-stage, as a hype man, producer, and engineer, Lobo’s love for music has resonated in all of his music related endeavors. Lobo, who hales from, Chicago’s Humboldt Park Community, and who is a product of Clemente H.S. has been heavily involved in the music industry since the age of 14. Now only 22 he boasts a fine resume that has taken him across the country while working with various artists. His inspirations are as unique as his music. Hip Hop, Salsa, Reggaeton, Bachata, and R & B are among the type of music that has influenced Lobo. His main inspiration still is found very close to him, in his mother. “My mother has always been moved by music so for me to be able to make something for her and all others to enjoy is a tremendous blessing,†Lobo says.
Lobo who recently completed a track which features, Chicago’s very own, Never from Crucial Conflict has been featured on eight mix cd’s and three albums. He has worked with such artists as: Pee Wee, Master Joe, Crucial Conflict and Do Or Die, not to mention many of Chicago’s up and coming artists: D Wise, Latino G, Chi Ill, etc. Performances range from many of Chicago’s hottest night clubs, Mambo Café, and 720, to the Aragon, and Allstate Arena. One of Lobo’s most memorable performances however was done in front of his home crowd during the Puerto Rican Festivities held in the summer in Chicago’s Humboldt Park. Performances in Indiana, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Texas are among the places that have heard and felt Lobo’s music.
Lobo is part of a fast pace movement in Chicago. Lobo’s talents have taken him through various aspects of the game and can definitely attest to the phrase:
