Time for a little work, since everyone and their mom has a profile on here now.
I'm a software engineer. Partly because I love it, but partly because it pays well. Call me materialistic, but money is important to me. There are too many things in the world to worry about already; I don't want to have to worry about making ends meet, too.
I'm adept at learning. The pursuit of knowledge is, in my opinion, essential in my pursuit of money. I probably spend more time studying than is healthy, but seeing as how I'm only doing it for another five months, I figure it's okay.
I come from a good home. My parents and I get along very well, and I love them dearly. They're moving out of state to retire at the end of summer, so I'm striking out on my own to find my place in the world. Or at least, the Silicon Valley.
I don't execrise much, but I have enough of a metabolism to stay thin. When I do exercise, it's almost exclusively rock climbing. I like the feeling of freedom I get by reaching places that most people either can't or don't. I like the sensation of living in three dimensions, instead of the two we're usually confined to.
I know more about computers than most people. That is to say, few people are more skilled with a computer than I am, and I am more knowledgable about how machines work than I am about how people work. I suppose that's why I majored in computer science rather than psychology.
I'm confident, often to a fault. By now, I'm pretty sure of my abilities. I know what I can do, what I can't do, and what I can figure out how to do. I also know that, with enough time and effort, I can learn how to do almost anything. Almost.
Finally, I believe that I am alive for one reason: to enjoy being alive.
