Scott began his flute journey on April 6, 2003.He was introduced to the Native American Flute at local arts and crafts fair. Scott purchased a small and inexpensive flute not knowing where it would take him. Little did he know at the time, that the flute would be a bridge to great lessons, experiences, friendships and creative opportunities. A year later, Scott was given the opportunity to perform background music during prayers and meditations at the church he belonged to. This opened the door to perform at other churches, and paved the way for his first CD "Grateful Journey". "Beyond Paradigm", a gentle meditation and massage CD, was influenced by his girlfriend, a massage therapist. In 2006 and 2007 Scott was the Emcee and Director of Entertainment for the annual Zion Canyon Native American Art and Flute Festival in Zion Canyon, Utah. On October 14th 2007 at the festival, Scott surprised his girlfriend and asked her to marry him on stage in front of the entire audience. The couple that introduced Scott to the flute in April of 2003 was recording artist Saggio and his wife Barbara. They had since become very dear friends of Scott and Laurie. Barbara, being a minister, married Scott and Laurie on the stage that day and Saggio was Scott's best man. Only Saggio and Barbara knew Scott was going to propose that day, so it was a surprise for everyone at the festival. In April of 2008, Scott’s parents introduced to him to a young Japanese girl, Marina Miyoshi. She was visiting America for the first time. During a visit to Scott's house, he found out that Marina was an accomplished concert trained pianist, as she delighted and surprised his entire family with her extraordinary talent. They jammed together that night to realize a definite musical chemistry between them. That chemistry resulted in the release of "Ebb & Flow" in May of 2008. This passionate CD has been referred to as a deep and heartwarming musical menagerie. Scott continues to use his music in ways that bring forth joy, healing, and just plain fun. Interacting with his audience, he tells stories, while educating on the history and culture of his many instruments. He captivates children of all ages, and interacts with them on stage, with a hands on approach, awakening the musical spirit within them.
