Band Aid Magazine Bionic Monks review, Strand Theater, Shelbyville, IN - 7/12/08We'll start with The Bionic Monks, as they played first. And let me tell you, they were great. The sound in the Strand Theater wasn't the greatest but it is most definitely not the worst I've heard. But despite that minor flaw, TBM had some great music. On their myspace ( http://www.myspace.com/thebionicmonks ) they label their music as Rock / Metal / Punk. I'd have to say that's a very apt description. With Dad on the bass and lead vox, the older son playing guitar, the younger son (you guess his age...I was way off) on the skins and a family friend completing the quartet on guitar, they pulled of the mixture of styles quite well. I expect to hear a lot more from these guys in the future.
