Influences: My chief interest is music. My ultimate heroes of music are Beethoven and Bach. I listen to alot of classical music, which at its best gives me an unrivalled sense of the sublime, and perhaps the best moments in my life. More recently I like Queen, Elton John, Led Zepplin, David Bowie, ABBA, (the words principally of) Bob Dylan, Dire Straits to name but a few. Literature and art fills me with similar wonder - Shakespeare, Nabokov, Dostoyevsky, Martin Amis, Marquez spring to mind. If I could create but one moment of music, or music and words, which achieved the joy it has been proven possible to create by such people... well, that for me is life.
