Band Members: Chris (guitar, vocals) spent his early years pretty much just jamming with friends and slowly finding his feet; somewhat of a late bloomer. Not long after deciding that he wanted share his love of blues with a wider audience, looking to put together a band, he was snapped up by Synergy Blue. The boys received great reviews during the time Chris played with the band. A year or so on he decided to set up his own outfit, Southbound Train. Currently rocking and bopping along, he's found his feet, his sound and the right mix. Rob, aka Chuggs, (bass, vocals) has toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe & New Zealand. Chuggs has been a professional musician for over 30 years and has performed with great acts such as Matt Taylor, Phil Manning, Dutch Tilders, Whipping Post, Robert Jnr Lockwood (USA), Champion Jack Dupree (USA), The Hawks Show Band with Phil Goulotta. Rocky (drums, backing vocals) has been around, hitting the skins since the early age of 15. In his 20's and 30's, Rocky played with Lost Cruises, Well Strung and Blind Bombardiers. He has shared the stage with Paul Kelly, Australian Crawl and Joe Camilleri and most recently played with The Dancing Bear Show. Now playing with the band, Rocky has found a new direction, playing a completely different style of music to what he'd been used to…and loving it. He’s currently banging away in Southbound Train.Guest musicians that helps us out...Tommy M (harp) Marshal Sayer(harp) David Lord (harp)

Influences: beer, wine and soft drinks
Sounds Like: Southbound Train are devotees of your rocking blues standards. Consisting of three permanent members with a rotating fourth (mostly guest harp players, sometimes with horn players, a couple of times even a flute) the boys share an enthusiasm and love of blues. They’ve played their influences for over three years now and still don’t play a song the same way twice, preferring to feed off each other and entertain the punters simultaneously. All have a passion for playing live music. The bands sound is very ballsy, bluesy with a rock feel. Be not mistaken kids, these boys have got something. route 66 live @ the bluestone festival long grey mare @ the sleepy hollow blues club
