About Me

I really don't know what to say here. I'm not a very complicated person, although my life is pretty full at the moment, but that's how I like it. I like to stay busy and feel like I'm accomplishing something...even if its something small and really insignificant to everyone else. I LOVE to read. That's probably my favorite past time. Books are my security blanket really, always have been. I also love to write, but I unfortunately don't seem to have as much time to practice my craft as I would like. I'm content in my current employment, although it offers no benefits or job security, it gives me free time that I need to do the things I love like hiking, watching movies, being outdoors, writing, reading, spending time with my family and friends, etc. I'd like to eventually get my Masters in Appalachian Studies, Womens Studies, or both, but that's too far in the future for me to really give it much thought at the moment. I'm currently enrolled part-time at EKU studying Spanish. In the meantime I'm just taking each day as it comes and living my life to the fullest...at least as much as I can in a small town in Eastern Kentucky. I'm happy, that's more than I can say for most people, so I think I'm doing pretty well. ..

My Interests

Create your own Friend Quiz hereAnything to do with Appalachia...because that's where my heart and soul is and always will be. Equal rights and social justice for all people. Southern and Appalachian history. Medieval history. Poetry. Literature. Useless information about random, odd things. Circus performers. Sideshow freaks. The darker aspects of humanity, cryptozoology, mythology, folk lore, parasychology, demonology, and other assorted spooky things. Writing. Music. Bluegrass festivals. Mountain Top Removal. Coal Mining in general. Farming. Mosh pits. Watching movies. Reading. Punk rock shows. Feminism. Clogging. Volunteering.
You Are 100% Feminist
You are a total feminist. This doesn't mean you're a man hater (in fact, you may be a man).
You just think that men and women should be treated equally. It's a simple idea but somehow complicated for the world to put into action. Are You a Feminist?
You Are 72% Open Minded
You are a very open minded person, but you're also well grounded.
Tolerant and flexible, you appreciate most lifestyles and viewpoints.
But you also know where you stand firm, and you can draw that line.
You're open to considering every possibility - but in the end, you stand true to yourself. How Open Minded Are You?

I'd like to meet:

In no particular order (both living and dead): Jesus, Mother Teresa, Helen Keller, Mother Jones, Martin Luther King, Jr., Jimmy Carter, FDR, Teddy Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sid Hatfield, Gene Kelly, Ashley Judd, Kate Winslet, Johnny Depp, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Elizabeth I, Mark Twain, Holly Hunter, Stephen King, St. Francis of Assisi, Rob Zombie, Quentin Tarantino, Wendell Berry, Annie Oakley, Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Janis Joplin, and new friends.
The Keys to Your Heart
You are attracted to good manners and elegance.

In love, you feel the most alive when everything is uncertain, one moment heaven... the next moment hell.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily. What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

Nina Isaacs. Evie Sparks. Bessie Murray. Mother Teresa. Mother Jones. Sid Hatfield. St. Francis of Assisi. Eleanor Roosevelt. Anyone willing to risk everything to stand up for others and to stand by what they believe in. Average everyday people who work hard for a living.
