I'm treating this area as a hypothetical question: If I could meet anyone, who would I meet and why? What if I met someone I idolize and then he/she was a total schmuck in person? If I work on the assumption that the person wouldn't be lame face to face, I can come up with a few people. First, I would like to meet Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha because he has helped pave the road for so many to reach such an astounding inner peace and he's created one of the few religion/philosophies that does not fued amongst its own factions. Next, I would like to transport myself to the 1500's to speak with peasant and then his tyrant, both in Europe and Asia. I would like to contrast the social classes and the cultures, and see what insights I could gain from them. Next, I would get Socrates Aristotle and Plato in the room. I probably wouldn't talk much, just listen to them for a few days and be boggled. Hmm, I really think that I could continue on and on - Jesus, Hitler, Napoleon, Einstein, Ghandi, a homeless woman, and really anyone else who could deepen my insights.
A few bands capture the sound that I like in a good number of their songs: Sublime, Infected Mushrooms, Sublime, Keller Williams, Immortal Technique, Barenaked Ladies, Simon and Garfunkel, Pink Floyd, Explosions in the Sky, Shpongle, Arcade Fire, Afro Celt Sound System, The Album Leafe, Beck, Bela Fleck, Ben Folds, Beta Band, The Blow, Blue October, Bonobo, Cake, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Gold Finger, Modest Mouse, Phish, Portishead, Postal Service, Secret Machines, The Shins, Thom Yorke, Wolf Parade... and many more

I think I mentioned some of those above in who I would meet; however, I have met the heroes who have most impacted me. My mother, she gave me birth, loved and cared for me, and gave me my perception of the world. I attribute my general social attitude as an offspring of her example, and for it I am greatful. My father is another hero who has inspired me. From him I have learned/obtained a certain spirituality. Although sometimes spunk gets the better of me, he has taught me the way of the silent warrior. Pete, my brother, has shown me responsibility (as good older brothers do). Thank goodness I did not have a bad example growing up, or who knows what I may have gotten into. Pete has shown me the straight path. Also, I have learned the importance of intellectualism (and maybe my parents trying to beat it into my head as well) and a necessity to look deeper and analyze. Isaac, my good fellow, has been a stalwart friend of immense character. Through him, I have learned the importance of laughter. My chick friend, Jenna, has been through more good natured mischief with me than anyone, especially in our younger years. Together, we found out how to pry but not break. Lastly, my girlfriend Bri has given me the strength and conviction to stand up for what I believe in. Without her, I would be a puzzle without a picture. Additionally, everyone that has helped me get to where I am are my mini-heroes, of which there are far too many to name.
