An idea of creating Morbid Landscapes originally appeared during 2004 in Belgrade, when, after the break-up of a gothic metal band Illumination, Nenad Stanacic [guitar] and Boban Pantos [vocal] started to work on a new project, this time of a desired music direction - death metal, with many different influences, but with doom sound predominance. Early ideas were implemented and songs 'Carpe Diem' and 'Timor Mortis' were recorded in home studio. Further work depended on finding more members for the band, i.e. on musicians willing to play in the band. The two of Morbid Landscapes soon got a company in an already experienced musician, Ivan Hadzi-Ilic [bass guitar; Moondive, Hate Crew, Dark Preachers], and the work on the first demo issue continued stronger than ever. Because of objective reasons, the trio never performed live, but are waiting patiently for their chance. This is due to lacking of a drummer and other guitar. There were various attempts with more or less known Serbian metal musicians, but none of the combinations gave fruit. Exactly because of that, the band decided the drums on the first demo be programmed, while a pursuit of musicians is still on. "Into The New Eon" was finished at the beginning of 2007, and Morbid Landscapes decided to start a promotional battle, no matter they have no drummer and are not in a position to appear live. Contumacy and pertinacity gave the results - in the beginning of May 2007, the band got company in two fresh members - Stanislav Sarsanski (guitar - Space Eater; ex-Afterlife) and Aleksandar Manja (drums - ex-Stormaggedon; ex-Epitaphium, ex vocal of Flush), so that Morbid Landscapes can finally start with rehearsing their song-list. As financial constraints make broader promotional campaign impossible, the band decided to send the promo material only to the selected labels, magazines, and fanzines which have proved with their work, sweat, and often with blood, that their hearts are in the right place and that they are not to abandon the battle for UG movement, no matter of the style in question. In this way, the band would like to ask journalists, publishers, followers, and fans of the hardest possible sound to send their suggestions, critiques, ideas, etc. to given e-mail address. The Web-site is being established and you will be informed on time about it (for now, you have the band's myspace address). Morbid Landscapes entered the promotional battle for only one reason - to make the ideas heard, so any criticism, being positive or negative, is welcome, as well as requests for interviews and reviews. It should also be noted that journalists, fanzines and fans can use their UG contacts to forward the demo to as many people as possible. Copying, ie. multiplying is welcome, but with a request this page with information and short biography be included. Recently, Aleksandar Manja left the band, so the band is once again looking for a drummer.
