FUN CITY OPEN MIC is the NEW poetry and open format variety OPEN MIC gathering in ARLINTON TEXAS.
NEXT EVENT! OCTOBER 24th 8:30, at Goodtimes, 931 W Division St, Arlington,TX There will be $1.50 Well Drink Specials, Beer Specials, Featured poets from all parts of DFW, AWESOME special musical guests, and a mic opened to anyone and everyone and everything..DON'T MISS IT!

PAUL SEXTON- Arlington Texas in Paul's hometown, and although he has been performing at, and hosting ass loads of OPEN MICS all around DFW for over a decade, Poetry in Arlington has always held a special place in his heart. Most notably the notorious open mic at ZOMBIES that he founded and was primary host of that ran for 2 years in 1996-1997, and more recently JOEPOETS, which ran for 1 year from 2006-2007 (of course many other awesome readings filled the years between, mostly in the Dallas area.) It is Paul's wish that FUN CITY be the continuation of a great history of an open mic scene in Arlington, as well as the other great open mics past and present from all parts of DFW!
JOSHUA WEIR- Josh came into DFWOPEN MICS through the JOEPOETS reading over a year ago. His talent and enthuiasm immediatly became an asset and inspiration to all! He has gained regognition for his work in the past year performing and guest hosting at JOEPOETS, Peoples Poetry at the Blackdog, The Mad Swirl, Outlaws of the Spoken Word, The Fort Worth Slam, The Oak Cliff Circle of Poets, Street Festivals in Bishop Arts District and Deep Ellum, and a wonderfully successful release party for his first Spoken Word CD in October 2006. Josh has now signed on to use his talent and energy for good (instead of evil) CO-Organizing and Co-Hosting FUN CITY OPEN MIC!
