Sammy has blended a subtle mix of Middle Eastern, Southern and Central Asian, and western influences into a distinctive sound that is his own.His love of music and traditional cultures has taken him on extensive travels throughout the world and his music is an evocative culmination of those experiences. He has the ability to take the listener on a journey without having to do more than close their eyes.Sammy & violinist Cye Wood ( www.cyewood.com ) are the principal members of the group "Leadlight" which coupled 2 unique musicians to create a sound that fills the listener to the brim with pure emotion, taking them through an emotional journey from soaring joy to incalculable sorrow with their penetrating melodies.In 2004 they recorded a self titled CD with Bangladeshi tabla player Zia Islam.
