After a well-deserved rest of over a year, guitarist Dan Krier has enlisted the help of several musician friends to form a new group: The Black Plate Kings. Dan is a long-time player in the L.A. Blues and Rock scene, most recently backing-up other players at clubs such as B.B. Kings and the House of Blues in Hollywood.

Although the blues is the main thread that runs through Dan's playing, he is a versatile musician and has played in many styles over the years. This versatility has helped to keep Dan in the company of many interesting musicians. He has shared the stage or studio with members of: Dokken, Ratt, Brand X, Moody Blues, Spirit, Rare Earth, Tin Machine, and many others.
Joining Dan on bass and vocals is Tony Alvarez , who says he has "played a lot of different stuff with a lot of different people."
On drums, it's Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz , a pro's pro and a familiar face among L.A. musicians. Bermuda is perhaps best known as the perennial drummer with master parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic and has played on dozens of gold and platinum records.

Over the summer touring season, our regular drummer and bandmate Jon "bermuda" Schwartz will be out with the Weird Al show. Filling in on drums will be several talented and noteable players that we always enjoy playing with such as Ronnie Ciago and Joe Green.
We're having a great time playing some of our favorite stuff, so come on down.
