To define my career as a dj in a few words, I would say it’s a short and revealing one. Short, because it officially started in 2005, though I fell for electronic music back in 1994. Revealing because a lot happened in my life since I first played for my friends back home. Actually I began playing piano and guitar at a very young age but it was when I first played the drums that it hit me. I got my first set of drums when I was a teenager and became part of several bands through the years. Played rock & roll, blues, jazz and other genres, but when I started peeking to the world of reggae I decided to take it a little more seriously. That’s when I became a vocalist, when we had the chance to play in live shows and when I first felt what is like to share your music with an audience…
By the beginnings of 2006, after playing at private parties, local bars and a radio show in Cordoba with the support of two of my dearest dj friends Flor Beretta and Rodrigo Vacis, I moved to Cancun, Mexico, where I began developing this new career.
After a few days from my arrival I became resident dj at the club Nectar Bar, where I had the chance to play for audiences from all around the world and to share stage with national and international renowned artists. Then also became resident dj at Thai Lounge, a restaurant/bar/lounge, the place where world known artists were taken before their shows in Cancun. That’s where I had the honor of having among the audience some world top dj’s and had the pleasure to meet Hernan Cattaneo and Sander Kleinenberg, from whom I received very good critics. During my staying in Mexico I was booked for shows in Playa del Carmen, Chetumal and Merida. Played in clubs like Blue, Dady’O and Blue Parrot; in bars like Sky Blue, Sky Bar, Rose Bar at Melia Hotel and Basico Hotel and in beach clubs like Maxime’s at Melia Hotel and Punta Nizuc’s private parties.
Always pushing new sounds, influenced by minimal, techno and house labels, with emotional sets and good mixing techniques, by the end of 2006 I was considered one of the respected dj’s in the Riviera Maya. During 2007 I was booked by Red Bull Mexico to play in their tour through the Riviera Maya and became resident of the club Mix Sky Lounge.
In Mexico I've seen beautiful places, met some extraordinary people and made great friends in the music business to whom I’ll always be thankful for their support. Among the great experiences I’ve had and things I’ve learned there is versatility, to be able to play for 50 people in a lounge bar, for 200 at the beach and for 1000 + in a club.
By the end of 2007 I moved to Barcelona, Spain where I plan to get more into production and continue developing this career I'm enjoying so much.
Let’s see how it goes…
