FAIR
It’s his last name if you didn’t know. Born and raised in Richmond VA, Derek Fair turned his dream of being a rapper into reality. Signing with long time producer Octavion Xcellence & friend Daniel "Capoe" Capotosco's Infinitera Entertainment LLC isn’t the beginning of his strive for rap stardom. It all started when FAIR became apart of a well known local rap group with Foolish Wayz, J-Cass & Eye Q, called The Coalition. This group was actually produced by Octavion Xcellence and was the first time FAIR got his taste of rap shine.
When the group eventually broke up in 04 and went their separate ways, FAIR was still finding himself hungry to make music. Some of the members retired from rap all together, and some started doing their own thing. Octavion then contacted FAIR to express interest in working with him and developing him as an artist. They linked up and began to develop and mold FAIR into the ideal mc with a little bit of a twist. Coming from a suburban area, FAIR finds himself having to prove himself in the rap community. He studies and critiques his work to it’s tee to make sure it is just right.
FAIR delivers each line in such a way, it will send chills up your spine. "He is so focused at his craft, when he applies himself he does damage" says Octavion Xcellence. His music reflects his life, what he has been through so far, and what he hopes to achieve. It is definitely a statement of his character and his accomplishments. Now, with Octavion finding a home at Smooth Dirty Productions, FAIR has followed.
