About Me

All you need to know about me is in the following poem.

I teach.
I write.
I read.
I think.

I am
a fantastic woman,
a wonderful mother,
a cool grandmother.

I want
world peace,
happiness and
love for all.

Then there
are various
other sundry
things.

I didn’t say the poem was good!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

There are a lot of people I'd like to meet. Here are some:

the Dalai Lama , Maya Angelou , Jane Smiley , Arundhati Roy , Howard Zinn , Noam Chomsky .

And, of course it is too bad that
Shakespeare and Einstein are dead!

And, I always love meeting people who are funny, progressive, love the Earth, and enjoy life.

Waves of Trouble

Ice Today

Okay. It's icy today, but the buses are running. Lots of snow. 8 inches, very unusual for Portland. It happens once every five years or something like that. Rachel's car is rather buried, so we are no...

White Christmas in Portland

I've been looking out the window and watching the boy across the street--he's about 12 or so. He's trying to make snowballs, but he doesn't seem to know that he's suppose to pack the snow to make a sn...
