I am the executive director of a community non-profit foundation (we raise funds but also provide grants to organizations serving the community). I also enjoy penning articles for the local paper but no longer have my community cable television show - My mentor, Carolyn Howard-Johnson, helps to keep my thoughts on completing several books I am writing - I have finally finished one (It's a children's book naturally) but wanted to illustrate it myself - so I signed up for an art class which was unfortunately cancelled ... so I hope to take that class in early 2009. My friend Scott Evans (inventor, filmmaker, motivational speaker) and Greg Scott Reid (Millionaire Mentor) completed a movie, "Pass It On" last spring, but I still have the link up (below) because I think that it gives you a boost when you view it! Scott has also created a mentoring group that helps prisoners who are about to be released back into society. I went with one of Scott's groups last fall to a local prison where we met with the guys and I participated in the program that Scott has drawn up - they are very happy to be inspired to do well once they leave. I hope that all of us out in society will remember to give former prisoners a chance at turning their lives around - those who want to change and restart their lives should be given that chance.
