Hi, I'm Richard Dimbleby, proud father to David and Jonathan. I used to be the BBC's major political interviewer and presenter. I presented Panorama for many years and was the face of the BBC's election coverage until my death in 1965 (not my favourite year!!).
I was born in Richmond and joined the BBC as a radio reporter in 1936, and in 1939, I accompanied the British Expeditionary Force to France.
I changed to television after the war mainly on Panorama, but I also commentated on the coronation of Elizabeth II and the funerals of Winston Churchill, John F Kennedy and George VI. I am very proud of my sons carrying on the Dimbleby tradition.
