About Me

real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
Musician and artist currently based in London and Oxford. I play Pedal Harp, South American Harp and Piano.
Recently been collaborating with some fantastic artists,..jazz, folk, reggae, latin, hiphop, classical...including the magical Megan Goodwin and band, (Megan Goodwin Band!), Isodore and Clay, (new album recently released), LJC, (London Jazz Collective- recent album), and the phenomenal Venezualan percussionist Wilmerr Timbal...... but always on the look out for fellow musicians to add colours to the cauldron!
Recent performance highlights include Stanford Harp Festival and the Paraguan Harp Festival 2008. I perform regularly as a soloist also for various events, including Innocent Festival Regents Park, and currently playing for and recommended by venues including Blenheim Palace and Eynsham Hall.

I have been fortunate also to recently work with Annie Mawson, a fantastic harpist and music therapist, along with her inspiring colleagues at Sunbeams- an undescribable experience..which says everything though I think.
Originally classically trained, my mum first started me on the black and whites when I was three (and also the violin… which I was later told I couldn’t play as I was too small- how’s that for quashing musical creativity!) I also started on the harp at 6…(thank goodness they have smaller harps for even smaller small people!) and was lucky enough to be a music scholar at my school from the age of ten and performed regularly from a young age with various orchestras, chamber groups, concert bands, shows and also solo performances, including achieving first place in national festivals. Recently completed an ALCM performance diploma.
I play and compose influenced by whatever comes my way! I also draw, paint, having a strong, perhaps bizarre, obsession with anatomy (but it is what we are all made of!)...I also take photos- inparticular music photography- live and shoots -some of which you can see here in my pictures. Forever indebted to some amazing artists (and just as inspirational people too!) inparticular some of the genius tutors from Royal College of Art, wise and overly inspiring words from individuals such as Courtney Pine & artists in the film industry whom I have been privileged to grace my life...who collectively taught me more about form and expression, in music and art, and everything ..more than I can say.
Always having a strong passion for jazz…and specifically improvisations, I am currently working a lot on my own, focusing on this side of my playing, bringing all aspects and influences together. Equally with a strong interest in latin music, upon my travels I have been lucky to encounter and befriend various genial South American harp players, the likes of Ismael Ledesma, Diego LaVerde and Kike Pederson - all of whom have greatly enriched my harping life.
Although still greatly influenced by my classical background- mainly influenced by jazz, latin, impro… or anything with passion and energy behind it (even if in the subtlest way!)
Nb....please grace my space again soon as some new grooves are a-brewing to be arriving very shortly..!
