I am here for Friends

About Me

I moved to Richmond, VA in 2000. I work and go to school during the week, and spend the rest of my time hanging out with my friends and family. Most people know me as Trina from Jacksonville Beach, Fletcher Junior or Fletcher Senior High. If we go WAY back, we may have kicked it on the playground at Seabreeze. LOL!!! These days, most people know me as "Patrina."(That's when you know you're old.) Anyway, life is good. I have a great family, and a few good, supportive friends to keep me happy.

My Interests

I like hanging out and laughing with family and friends, LISTENING TO GOOD MUSIC, READING, watching movies and working out. One of my favorite things is visiting beautiful parks with my kids.I enjoy watching boxing and drinking wine...preferrably at the same time :) White wines are my favorite, but I'm open to trying new things.I also enjoy the occasional ladies' night out. I don't do clubs, but I love some girl talk at happy hour. It's a great release!

I'd like to meet:

I'm here to keep in touch with my friends and family in Jacksonville and Richmond. I'd love to reconnect with people from previous places of employment, as well. HEY, WHO CARES IF WE DIDN'T GET ALONG BACK IN THE DAY, OR WE LOST TOUCH YEARS AGO...LET'S BE FRIENDS NOW! Oh yeah, I'm supposed to list the people I'd like to meet. Here goes: Oprah, Michael Jackson (to ask him Why, Why??,) Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown (at the same time, cuz they are hi-lar-ious as a duo and I LOVE to laugh.)

CREATE YOUR OWN!

Music:

..
I am THE BIGGEST fan of 80's and 90's R&B that you will ever meet! If you don't believe me, pause the song that's playing and check out the list above. It's guaranteed to take you back. I also like neosoul, a little jazz, a little hip hop and a small selection of gospel. I've got a special place in my heart for 80's pop and soft rock, too. Whether they'll admit it or not, people my age from my home town (J-ville) know we used to love some George Michael, Madonna and Phil Collins before we got an R & B station. Don't trip!!!!!

Books:

I love to read true crime, crime fiction, African American fiction and erotica. I can also get with the occasional ghetto autobiography or trashy indulgence of a novel. Some of my favorite authors are Mary Monroe, E. Lynn Harris, Sister Souljah, Eric Jerome Dickey, Carl Weber, Terry McMillan, Noire, Jackie Collins, Ann Rule, John Patterson and Monster Kody. Yeah, I read a lot :o)

Heroes:

Mama, Bigma, Marvell, Niecy, Sonya, Tracey and Vet...each has been a hero to me at different times in my life. The love, support and guidance they have given me has helped me through some trying times as a young adult, and still empowers me today.

who do you love?

Love is easy, not forced.  It's forgiving, and it does not judge.  It requires respect, sincerity and a certain degree of humility.  Love isn't selfish or self-centered, it's reciprocal...

If loving me is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

I used to ask myself all the time, "Why do I have such a hard time making and keeping friends?"  It took 30 years, but I think I finally have the answer:  People have a hard time accepting a...
