About Me

Hello there!
My name's David Pollock. I'm a producer, mixer, and mastering engineer based in Portland and New York. I like producing rock, jazz, soul, folk, funk, pop, and hip hop records. I'm a freelance engineer, as well as a staff engineer at Black Diamond in Portland. I've worked on records that ten people heard, and I've worked on records released by Sony and Universal. I spend lots of time sitting down and sipping coffee at pretentious coffee shops in Portland discussing projects with bands, trying to get a feel for where they're coming from and what they'd like their record to sound like. If you don't like radio hits, I'd probably enjoy working with you. I'm a jazz piano player, and I'm fluent in drummer-speak ("make it more: ba da da DA!"), and guitar-speak ("less changa dang dang!"). I do the "tech" thing very proficiently, too, and I honed my technical knowledge through my studies at NYU in Music Production. I'm young, I don't like the record business, and if you're looking for a fresh perspective and a very capable producer/engineer for your project in any studio in any part of the world, I'd love to make something earth-shattering with you! Oh..and I show up on time :)
