HI, my name is Sabrina and i'm 19 years old from London. I grew up in my home country Algeria up until the age of 10 when i moved here to England and have been here ever since. Can't say i've always been a musician but took an interest 6 years ago when my eldest brother brought home an acoustic guitar. I've been teaching myself the guitar everysince playing and singing to songs I like. I also started taking an interest in other instruments such as the piano and the drum kit, although I dont get to practice drumming much (i've purchased an oriental drum called "darbuka", it's used alot in arabic songs and it's rather traditional in my culture to play this instrument) I have a keyboard at home. As you can guess I put the purchase to good use and also started teaching myself the piano. What else can i play? Well lately I've been playing the bass at college and got an electric guitar from my friend that i'm very grateful for. Lots of times I get people saying that its extra-ordinary the talent that I have but I always reply as I will now that its nothing impossible. You just got to have the willingness and patience to learn an instrument and thats what I apply to everything I do.Up to last year I had never thought of composing or writing lyrics until someone dear to me suggested I try it as a method to express thoughts and emotions that I may bring negative energy to my life and instead turn into something positive... an art in itself. So I bought a notebook a couple months ago and began writing lyrics about my thoughts and feelings to things in my life. Then came the biggest challenge yet for me... to compose my own melodies (the songs in my profile are just demos that i messed about with on my keyboard). It started out with the guitar and now I'm also using to piano to create melodies. I've a couple of songs to record and upload so I hope to share with you all at some point.My style varies, as I like to listen to varied music i.e indie,pop, jazz, rNb, rock, flamenco...etc. As it turns out, writing and composing is a revelation for me for whatever i am feeling at the time of composing or writing. I aim to be able to share my theraputic method (in a way) to the public and be able to inspire others as so many have inspired me in the past. Reach out to those who would feel better and more peaceful with themselves just by listening to songs and make them want to change a negative situation into something positive.So, I hope you've gotten a bit of an insight about me by reading and at some point listening to my songs.
