mediocre people do exceptional things all the time

About Me

I am Deidra, the squarest liberal you've ever met. I'm very passionate, very insecure, and moderately intelligent and talented. My primary passion is music: I play trombone and baritone horn/euphonium and I'm currently learning tuba. I'm a popular culture junkie and I'm generally pretty artsy but not conventionally so (or at least I like to think that that's true). But, strangely, I found myself interested in most of the required academic subjects in high school, so much so that I also have developed interests in math, political science, language, and law.And so I have no idea what I will pursue as a career. Well, I suppose I have some idea.I have come into contact with many people in my life and have had many experiences with them--both good and bad--which, I'm sure, have made a major impact on my life and values and morals and ideals and the like, some more than others. I like to think that I'm essentially a good person. I try to be nice to everyone. I love meeting new people, though I'm very insecure regarding their reactions to me. I'm a Carpoopzo High School graduate, and I'm currently attending Amherst College.Oh, I forgot the part where I like to have fun (doing a myriad of things). And this was an egregious error on my part because I really have some of the greatest teachers and mentors and friends in the... country =0P

And I love them to death or something equally profound.

Music:

This is me being pretty horrid at my last high school band concert. I'm usually better, I swear.

This is a clip of The Last Word, the band in which my best friend is frontman (featuring the wonderful Jonathan Zuckerman) performing Queen's "We Will Rock You" at an annual school rock concert called Dozopalooza.

I just re-organized and alphabetized my buddy list. I need to get out of here. But my left knee is acting up. Okay, then the Queer as Folk DVDs need to get here soon.

I got a new trombone. It's a Bach Stradivarius 42 Series Tenor Trombone with an F-Attachment. It's a large bore so I had to get an adaptor for my mouthpiece! And a new one came with the horn! And ther...

I'm okay! I'm home. The pain is occasional, but the discomfort is eternal. It wasn't too bad. I just feel so useless. I can pretty much see everything now, but I wouldn't be too pleasant to look at......

I'm calling Jon tonight after 9. Wish me luck. And to whom it may concern, whenever I so much as see a regular postage stamp, I get so excited just to be let down. Isn't it pathetic?
