About Me

BIO
After a mammoth amount of phonecalls the group of five formed on the 18th of March 2007, and congregated in the oldest jazz venue in Sydney, (The ol' el rocco jazz cellar). A few bits of colour were thrown around with some obscure ideas and the result was a close/warm reaction of five musos experimenting with sounds/stabs and rythms. The flavour is from afar but not that far for your average punter to be unable to distinguish.....The stiff's might struggle and the nazi's might too but hey the enjoyment and spontaneity is there and it's right in your face on the day.So let your guard drop take a deeeep breath and enjoy yourselves for christsakes!!!!

Influences: The last 10 years of travelling 80 or so countries has been my biggest influence...hehe... As usual starting from Western Europe i then made my way east as the west bores me so much!! I then travelled south to Africa via the hash and tea trail (not by intention),stayed in comfort for a fair while and then headed across to Arabia (what a contrast). Not in all one trip mind you ...this has taken 10 valuable years that i cherish outa my life! I headed norrreast and not knowing what to expect i landed amongst the most mind blowing backdrop! They were the mountains of the Hindu Kush/Karakoram and Himalayan areas of Nepal/ India/Pakistan and it blew my mind man and showed me the force and strength that we live upon... I after returning to 'oz' to make some more cash headed across to Cuba/Mexico/Guatemala studying spanish/salsa/ashtanga yoga and other funny forms of male female connection? From central to panama and then across to Columbia, i travelled through the deep Amazonas by river with mystical 'Shamans' and the 'AYAHUASCA' (which beat me so hard) woooooohaaah!!! After coming out of solitary i endured a long tiring but enjoyable zig-zag to the southern tip of South America stopping off at numerous hangs and trekking some of the greatest low altitude peak stuff on offer..Bloody awesome man!! After all that i'm back in Mortdale Fewwww!!! GET YA BOOTS ON AND HAVE A GO, YOU WILL NEVER LOOK BACK!! Other influences would be:David Sanchez, Bill Summers, Wayne Shorter, Airto Moreira, Mahavishnu Orchestra, John McLaughlin, Shakti, Zakir Hussein, Azymuth, Banda Black Rio, Charlie hunter, John Schofield, Mongo Santermaria, Carlos Patato Valdes, Irekere, Ray Barreto, Changuito, Oscar Valdes, Mwandishi, Late 60's Herb, Los Munequitos de Matanzas, Boards of Canada and many many more........
Sounds Like: A beached whale that gets up on his fins, dusts all the sand off, finds his way up the beach, across the road to the shops, as he's on his way he 'gets on it' at the sneaky 'afro bar' for a few hours. Then with a smile and burp after several drinks and whatever else he consumed, he forgets about the shops and then makes his way back down to the water. He hops across the road causing absolute chaos and then wobbles towards the sand furiously because the life-savers are chasing him, yelling at him and telling him he's doing the wrong thing....."what's with this fusion thing"? they say........? He beats them to the water's edge show's them the 'bird', calls em all a bunch of 'stiffs'.....and then leaps like a 'Jack Russell' back into the surf.... SPLASH!!!........Off with his usual cheeky grin he dissapears into the depths and distance of the 'FREE' sea, to hopefully arrive at yet another port or continent in the near future to spread his past experiences and then hopefully with his little army of noisemakers be once again.............. happy and freeeeee!!! Breathe y'all.
