Say, 'He is Allah, the One;'Allah, the Independent and Besought of all'He begets not, nor is He begotten;'And there is none like unto Him' (Chapter 112:2-5)...and Muhammad (pbuh) is not the father of any man among you – but he is the Noble Messenger of Allah and the Last of the Prophets *; and Allah knows all things.(33:40)..O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the (Prophetic) Messenger and those in authority from amongst you, then if you have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the (Prophetic) Messenger if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and very good in the end for you.(4:59)...(O Prophet) Lo! thou art a warner and for every community there is a guide. (13:7)...Allah only wills to remove all impurity from you, O the People of the Household, and by cleansing you make you utterly pure. (33:33)...On the day when We shall summon every group along with its IMAMS; so whoever is given his register in his right hand - these will read their accounts and their rights will not be suppressed even a thread.(17:71)....
O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the (Prophetic) Messenger and those in authority from amongst you.^(4:59)
“And that^, ‘This is My Straight Path, so follow it; and do not follow other ways for they will sever you from His way; this is commanded to you, so that you may attain piety.(6:153)....This day have I perfected for you your religion and finalized Our blessing upon you, and We are pleased that Islam be your religion. IMAMATE

Imamate succeeds Prophethood, and is there to protect the Deen. The difference between a Nabi and Imam, is the Imam protects the Shari’a brough by the last Nabi, Muhammad (s). Imamate means to lead; the Imam is that person who leads you. Writing on Imamate.
“Imamate is prescribed to succeed Prophethood as a means of protecting the Deen, and managing the affairs of this worldâ€
NOW the HOLY QURAN says:
(Remember) the day when We will call every people with their Imam; then whoever is given his book in his right hand, these shall read their book; and they shall not be dealt with a whit unjustly.[Quran: 17:71]
"Whosoever dies without recognizing the Imam of his time dies the death of the ignorance (Jahiliyyah)."

Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 9329
I heard the Prophet saying, "There will be twelve imams." He then said a sentence which I did not hear. My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish."As for The Prophet (pbuh) as already said..
"I am leaving you two weighty things, if you follow them you will never go astray, they are the Qur'an and my Ahlul'bayt". (Book 031, Number 5920:)
