The fact that you are a paid firefighter in no way makes you a professional. You become a professional only when you exhibit on the fireground, those skills that you have acquired over the years from experience, study and training. Your conduct on the fireground is, and will be, the yardstick by which your superiors and the general public will judge you and the company you represent.
