What if loving without holding back backfires?

About Me

My name is Laura... I'm 22... I took two years at CCC and ran out of money, so I got a full-time job for a "recycling yard" delivering used parts to auto body shops. I've worked my butt off for nearly a year and thankfully it has paid off as I accepted a "higher-up" position. Also during spring '08 I took a couple night courses at CCC to slowly reach my goal. I know a few things about myself: I have a lot of patience, I have a heart too big for my own good, I don't take life for granted/I experience as much of it as I can: I've played sports since I was 4, and coached them, I own a motorcycle, I've skydived, I've white water rafted, I've climbed Smith rock and the South Sister, and can't wait to accomplish more. I like to make people think, it's an important part of life... I have a colorful body: my neck is a civilized red, my nose is brown when it needs to be, and I have one green thumb so I work with the other in my pocket as much as possible. I am a scientist who believes in God, the Maker of everything, and I want to be silly-in-love, though the circumstances in life don't always allow. I respect modesty and humility, but enjoy when a person is confident enough to brag, it makes me smile to know someone believes in themselves. I believe the toilet paper must go over the top. The forks must always go down and the spoons must go up. I hate war but understand without it we (Americans) would not be free today, therefore believe it is necessary sometimes.
I wish I could describe Him to you...
...but it is impossible!

My Interests

God: Who was, and is, and IS TO COME! He is the reason why I've made it this far, so I try to give Him all that I am. I love family. Nick. I tend to get excited whenever cars or astronomy is mentioned. I think my true love is a '68 Shelby GT 428 Fastback.... I also love playing sports, any and all, mainly baseball and basketball. I enjoy shooting guns, and anything outdoors, I love the outdoors. God gave me the gifts of drawing and singing, so I'm addicted to those, too.

I'd like to meet:

John Glenn (Nick's cousin), John Young, Paul Tibbets, Henry Kissinger, Joe Satriani, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, Pete Rose, Steven Colbert, and most of all... ELEANOR. And then of course there's Albert Einstein, and Edgar Allan Poe.

Music:

Christian: Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, Audio Adrenaline, Skillet, P.O.D., DC Talk, Five Iron Frenzy, Grits, and I have to say Relient K (not the car!) because they have one of the two songs that can make me cry.

Classic rock hits the spot: Joe Satriani, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Heart, The Eagles, Joe Walsh, AC/DC, Boston, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Steve Miller Band, Supertramp, Van Halen, ZZ Top.

Country: Slowly becoming more in-tune (pardon the irony ;) with it as my boyfriend is expanding my horizons, but that doesn't mean my body doesn't cringe at the sound of the steal guitar; sometimes OK, but generally. . . not

General: Chevelle, Bob Dylan, Everclear, and some random songs by some random artists. I like jazz, and can listen to rap (in small doses.)

Qualifications: As long as it doesn't involve opera vocals (not to be confused with it's music) or an inappropriately-used steel guitar... I'm all ears.

Movies:

I'm partial to Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm interested in any movie that has to do with war and history. Movies that make you think are good; Fight Club, Saw, and Se7en. And Gone In 60 Seconds is the best car movie EVER! The only movies that can make my eyes produce that salty water crap is Saving Private Ryan and The Passion Of The Christ.

Television:

Over There (everyone should watch at least one episode), History channel, NASA channel, and yes, I'll say it, Smallville.

=|OVER THERE THEME SONG|=
The day is comin;
The drums are drummin;
If you know one say a prayer.

Mothers cryin;
Fathers sighin, uhuh;
War is in the air.

Trains are fillin up with boys;
Who've left behind their favorite toys.
They're goin over there, over there;
Where someone has to die.

Over there, over there;
For ours is not to reason why;
Over there, over there;
Where someone has to die.

Books:

Anything by Edgar Allan Poe. The Blue Sward, and A Table In The Presence are good, and they're pretty much the only books I've read for fun. And I always enjoy reading the Bible. People always say that being a Christian is so boring... obviously they've never read this Book.

Heroes:

My number one hero is Jesus. I know that sounds like a "churchy" answer, but it's true. He is the ONLY thing that keeps my heart pumping for everything is devoted to extorting it. Everyone has good qualities, but if I strive to be anything less than perfect, I'll fall short... only GOD is perfect!
