Influences:
From the books I have read, my greatest influences are: Arnold Schoenberg, Kent Keenan and Samuel Adler among others.
I listen to a lot of artists from many different musical genres as inspiration and guidance. Therefore it would take a life time to enlist all the artists that influence me, but let me give you a short impression of who they are. I will enlist the greater:
Classicals: W. A. Mozart, J. S. Bach.
Contemporary: Gyorgy Ligeti, Bela Bartok, A. Schoenberg, Nino Rota, Mark Mancina, Ennio Morricone
Popular music: Tool, Marilyn Manson, BB King, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, John 5, Pink Floyd, Ozric Tentacles, Gentle Giant, Porcupine Tree, Pain Of Salvation, Opeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Monroe & His Bluegrass Boys, Earl Scruggs (BEST banjo player ever!), Lester Flatt, Miles Davis,
Sounds Like: A Combination of genres, subtle touchs of different elements in the music, like new alternative orchestration forms (Hang, theremin, banjo, guitar, tabla, piano, organ, strings, synths. All in one song!) or a combination of a western rythm with a sitar. A clear message on each composition is a goal, an unforgetable piece of music is the ultimate goal!
