--------------------------------------Street Spirit - D.I.Y. Promo Label is an independent organization from Skopje, Macedonia, interested in promoting and developing the oi!/punk/ska scene in Skopje. The label is almost a year old and it was founded by two skinheads from Skopje as a result to their love of ska and rocksteady music. The first few shows were simply parties where a DJ was playing ska an rocksteady sets in order to promote this unique and catchy musical style. The shows were widely accepted by various audiences and the Do The Ska parties - as they were and still are named - are now an event whose renome is largely spread and known around Skopje and even in other cities in Macedonia. Due to the interest which was arisen, the label started with organizing shows where live bands would play besides the usual DJ set. The first two bands that performed on one of the Do The Ska parties were the local ska-punk band Tartaur and the well-known, experienced ska legends from Novi Sad, Serbia - Lost Propelleros. After that show, things just started going from smooth to smoother. Until now the label has a few great shows and countless parties which now involve oi! and punk bands besides the ska bands, both local and from other countries. Unfortunately, the budget of the label is a bit low at the moment so we can't organize shows for bands that are from countries that are not on the Balcan unless they are on tour. However, the label is developing rapidly and will soon overcome that particular issue. You can see photos from the shows in our photos section, as well as a few videos from shows organized by the label so far. As for any band that is interested in playing in Skopje, and is an oi!, ska or a punk band, all you need to do is send us an e-mail , or write here on our my space address.
