Hey wassup thanks for visiting my page, my name is Kalib Smith and I am a drummer. I am endorsed by soultonecymbals, and im happy that Iki endorsed me (hes the man). His parents said as early as 1 year old he started beating on pots and pans. His father recalls, “I found 6 or 7 broken video tapes on the floor set up like a drum set. At that point I decided to get Kalib his first drum set; he was about 3 years old.†That’s when they knew he had a gift from the Almighty God, it has been non stop from that point on…Kalib, a 13 year old drummer from Colorado started playing drums at the age of 2 years old. His father a local bassist started to teach him the meaning of the groove. He would always tell him,†It doesn’t matter if you have the chops if you can’t hold a pocket.â€Kalib started taking lessons to read music at the age of 8 at Rupp’s Drums in downtown Denver. He was taught there from Gary who has played the drums most of his life and Kalib was taught there for 3 years. That same year he played his first gig at a Colorado Drum Festival in Castle Rock, Colorado.When Kalib had to move, he is now taking lessons at the Colorado Drum Institute by Jimi B. This is the drum school that Kalib as got all of his drum reading experience at and he is enjoying every moment of it…When Kalib was 10 years old he had to fill in on the drums at his local church when the regular drummer did not make it to service, He has been holding it down ever since that day. In addition to that, he plays at two churches, his local church, and helps out his mentor on Thursdays.
