Philosophy:
At the RCCCM, we use the word “survivor†rather than “victim†to describe someone who has experienced any form of sexual violence. We do this in order to reflect one’s strength and healing capacity.
Our agency services are based on a philosophy of empowerment. We recognize that sexual assault is a violation motivated by power and violence and is never the survivor’s fault.
Our counselors help survivors regain a sense of control and power over their lives and find the right options for them.
Our philosophy reflects our knowledge that sexual violence knows no boundaries of race, age, language, gender, sexual orientation, economic class, ability or religion.
Counselors represent the diversity of our community. RCCCM serves the geographic area of Central Massachusetts.
