After starting out on piano (classical and jazz) and saxophone (classical and big band), Mette first picked up the bass guitar some ten years ago. She is a graduated organist, former conductor of the Swedish big band Mercblecket and has played piano and saxophone in Stockholm groups Idel Öra, All Time High, Mette Lindgren's Orchestra and Take Sax. Her bass guitar career began in the Swedish rock group Hot Stew, of local (very local) fame. She also has a past as Sweet Adeline singer and member of the quartet Four Parts. Apart from playing in Zen City she can be seen with the party band Don´t Worry and retro-outfit Mettania Jazz Quintet.
