About Me

Every day the Argentinean tango becomes more and more popular, thanks largely to the wide distribution and recognition of the compositions by Astor Piazzolla. He introduced the tango to the rest of the world by mixing his distinctive interpretations of tango with other musical ideas and making them more accessible to other cultures. But also, and very importantly, he found all his inspiration in the rich tradition of the "glory days" of Argentinean tango, in the thirties and the decades that came after, with great orchestras from masters such as Aníbal Troilo, Carlos di Sarli, Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgán and many more. In this period the tango flourished into a dynamic and advanced music style, and both the listener and the tango dancer were increasingly stimulated and inspired by the contagious rhythms and passionate melodies of tango…
The members of this orchestra, with 10 musicians from 6 different countries, and all specialists in the Argentine Tango Style, have a common mission: playing Argentine tango as the great orchestras did in their glory days! They play the big classics of the tango repertoire, along with contemporary tangos from Buenos Aires and arrangements made by the orchestra itself. "Guardia Cadenera" combines virtuosity and complete devotion and specialization in tango to create an orchestra of unique quality.
