About Me

Going back to the 80's, Reem always was into music. Growing up in a jamaican background, DJ Reem, born Kareem Brinson, had always been subjected to hearing nothing but music. Music had such a high respect growin up in his household. With his mother jamaican bred and his father african american bred, he was subjected to island and hip hop music. Back in the 80's, hip hop had just started to come into the mainstream of America. As hip hop was gaining its acceptance, Reem waz gaining a liking to the music world. Born and raised in Neptune, New Jersey, Reem grew up listening to Hot 97, which was based out of New York City. New York City is considered the mecca of Hip Hop. If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere. Listening to all the radio shows from the morning show with Ed Lisa and Dre to Monday Nite Mixtape Show wit DJ Clue, Reem became very familar with the hip hop scene. He always had a passion for the music and always had a desire to motivate a crowd of people. It wasnt until a Funk Master Flex show that it clicked to become a DJ. Reem started out DJ'n with anything he could get his hands on that mix...From playing outta 2 different radios to mixin with 2 different playstations, he was determined to be a crowd ... It wasn't until December of 2002 that reem got his first piece of official DJ Gear (speakers and all) courtesy of his mother. He quickly became fond of his new equipment and it wasnt long before he started doing busines. Reem was already known through-out high school and the surrounding area because of his involvement in football and track. Reem was labeled as the RADIO RAHEEM of his area. He developed the name DJ Reem because he wasn't with all the alias bullshit. (just like Joe Buddens) He felt that to keep it true to ya name, and never stray away from who you was before being a DJ. February 7th, 2003 marked the day of his first official party. With the sucess of that party brought on more business and more parties. Later on that year, Reem dropped his first mixtape, G-BLOCK MIXTAPE, which was a compilation of local artist broadcasting there talent through the mixtape scene. DJ Reem took his act down to college at Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland where he met up with more music ties and what not. He has done shows at numeruous clubs and done parties on and off campus for different fraternities and sororieties and groups at school. Reem is known on campus for his series of mixtapes labeled the "House Party" series. On these mixtapes, he brings his club routine to you on cd, so you can take the party with you anywhere you go. His latest tape to drop "WHAT THE RADIO BEEN MISSIN" is out now...and the REEMIX is soon to come....Look out for that!!! Reem is also hosting a mixtape by unsigned artist by the name of BOOMSHARD. It's title "NO MONEY FOR BEATZ" and it is soon to drop. Reem is also in the works with another unsigned hype by the name EGGZ and his project is in the making. Reem also is workin with DJ KI to bring the people series of blends in mixes. Be on the look out for the up and coming projects Ya Heard!!!! DJ Reem specializes in Hip Hop and R&B. Reggae and carribbean music also is heavy in his rotation. He doesn't plan to give it up until the one day he has a show on HOT 97. With the way this young DJ's career is going, it won't be long until he reaches his destination.
