..
It all started when Cody Nash, from Great Falls, Montana, was about nine years of age, when he first joined the elementary school band and choir…He quickly progressed in band and slowly fell out of choir. He eventually moved to Chinook, Montana, which was a small town with very limited opportunities. He once again joined the school band playing percussion instruments. When Cody found out about the pep band he was determined to be the drummer for them. During tryouts he met a kid named Max Holfeldt who eventually turned out to be a much better drummer and who later drummed for the pep band and a few much bigger projects touring the states with much older musicians. So as of that point he decided to try out the bass guitar playing with his buddy Max who now Tygerr’s Lair drummer and a few others, Justin Haider and Jordan Lybeck, currently in there own project Deny The Dinosaur. Cody learned very quickly and eventually decided that bass was not the instrument for him because it did not keep his interest enough. So from then he switched to guitar. His dad’s girlfriend had an acoustic, which was the only thing for him to learn on so he did. With no one to guide him, he was determined to figure out the techniques of the guitar. Within a year he was already writing his own music and learning others’ music by ear. He then got his first electric guitar which he played religiously.
He eventually moved back to Great Falls when while staying at his grandpas, all of his stuff was stolen out of his dads van. Once again Cody was back to ground zero. A few months later he found himself doing some side work with his dad which was bringing in some serious cash for the time. His dad took part of the money and bought him a new guitar and amp. Once again Cody was determined to master the guitar. James introduced Josh Petersen now also of Tygerr’s Lair to Cody, who turned out to be an amazing bass prodigy being only 15 and being able to run through whole Primus albums. So from then on Cody and Josh began to go on a writing quest to fame writing somewhere around 20-30 songs or more together. They eventually formed several bands known as The Multi-Colored Sausage Links, which had one garage show where the only highlight was the cops showing up. Then they started Chemical Berry Avenue writing totally new shit that would eventually get them into the music scene. Cody was easily making the most money of the group where he continued to buy everything the band was going to need. He eventually decided to buy a Tama drum set just to have for a drummer to use.
Eventually James, doing nothing, plus living with us began his quest to learn drums which was Cody’s idea, due to the desperate want to play. Cody came across a musician known as Jake Ryan who turned out to what Cody thought to be his perfect match. Within a month CBA was a playing their first show which was a total success and the name spread across Great Falls and a few other cities in Montana. Due to their shredding metal and dueling solos they made the Tribune which gained a lot of PR. A month or so later Jake quit the band three days before the next show where CBA decided to go on with the show and continue to play as a 3-piece band. Then out of no where Cody and James were forced to move out of there current home where all three of them went their separate ways.
Cody found himself in Washington living with his mom where he began his quest to be a solo artist playing guitar and working hard on vocals. As that slowly progressed he searched out a band known as Tygerr’s Lair who happened to be looking for guitarists and a drummer. He emailed them not expecting to get any feed back anytime soon. The next morning he got a call from the manager in New York saying the band would like to meet with him. He met with them a few days later and that was the start of Cody Nash’s career with Tygerr’s Lair…So be on the lookout for Tygerr’s Lair, cause they are coming to a town near you SOON!!!!!
