About Me

I am Trudy, a 61 yr. old (refuse to grow up) "spacer" who started my life out born and raised in California, and now, find myself stuck in Alabama. Music has been at the center of my life for most of my years here on earth. My first time performing in front of more than 100 people was at a school dance at the age of 13. I sang Rosie and the Originals, "Angel Baby" and Peggy Lee's "Fever". It was then, that I realized I had the "FEVER!" The fever for music! Like so so many others, wanted to realize the "dream" of performing music, and did some, in very small venues in my latter years. But at 32 yr's old, took a backseat to the man I married, a very talented Keyboard player, and songwriter, Michael George, that had hitch-hiked from Louisiana, at 18 yrs old, to get to Calif. to realize "his dream." He had been in Calif. for 10 yr's when we met.He passed on, way too young at the age of 52, on the 4th of July in 2006. But anyone that knew him, can tell you he definetly paid his dues! I have several of his original works that we recorded in the studios in L.A. I had all the 16" masters, converted to cassettes. When I can get the right equiptment, planning on building a "Tribute Page" for him, featuring his music. With Michael, he could sit down at a piano, or any keyboard, and start messin' with a melody, and in a few minutes, like magic, their were the words that went with the melodies. He never wrote the lyrics down, but I did, many yr's later, and own all copyrights to them.I learned alot about the Music Industry during the 16 yr's I was exposed to it, so close up, from the recording studio's sitting in the booths, watching the engineers perform their "magic" on the boards.I also learned from a very young age, when my Daddy bought me a 6" reel to reel tape recorder for my 12th birthday, (remember those?) that you don't neccesarily have to "read"or "write" music in order to perform it. Yes, if you are going to write a song, the lyrics will do. Can always collaberate with someone to write the music. I stayed in my bedroom for hours on end, singing along with 45rpm's and recording it all. "Sure wish I knew where they ended up" lolWhat you really "need" is an "ear" for music. As I can play the piano by ear, also can sing by ear, but as anyone in this business knows, if you are in Choir, whether it be school or church, you better know how to read those notes! As with the clarinet I played in school, by God, you better know how to "read" that music!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I really can not think of anyone that I would like to meet, as I have met so many interesting and talented people along my journey of life, and working in some of the venues I did in Los Angeles, met alot of people in the Industry that I have been fortunate enough to re-connect with, with the help of the internet, and this site, especially. I am also greatful, that alot of the people I have found, or those that have found me, remember me, from so many years ago, and you know who you are, as you are pictured below. I especially want to Thank the "Axberg Bros" for providing the "transportation on the Magic Bus", that got Michael and I to the south. I am very glad that they are still going strong in East Tx. They were probably the most interesting and fun bunch of guys to be around in LA. in the early 80's having met them at the "Palomino Club" in N. Hollywood. And can not leave out MJ who lived just 4 blks away from us in Encino. When he was 19 yr's old, I was fortunate enough to be able to serve him at the infamous DuPars on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City, he would come in several mornings alone, and sit at the counter. He was so humble and polite, even at that age. Same thing every morning, Hot Tea, with lemon, and an English Muffin. No one ever bothered him or any of the other celebs in this restaurant, they were after all, just like you and me. People, who deserved their privacy. I just saw "THIS IS IT" on opening nite the 27th, and can honestly say, I think would rather watch hours of the rehersals than to see the finished product Live. To watch this man be so creative, and a master of his craft is phenominal! To see him when he would STOP all the dancers, musicians, camera men, to explain to Kenny that he wants to do something that was not previously rehearsed, because he just did not "feel" what he wanted to feel, that it should be this way, not that way. Kenny always obliged him. And of course my good friend Gerald Johnson, former bass player for Steve Miller, now with Dave Mason. And BV..Silly, silly, Billy Vera, (Billy and the Beaters) what a great talent, and funniest sense of humor, now that he has (somewhat) grown up! but by no means is old. No pun intended B.V. lol And Cher, whom I sat with at the L.A. convention center in 1972 during the "self awareness" groups that were so popular at the time. We attended EST Erhart Seminars Training, a grueling seminar/workshop that lasted for 2 consecutive weekends. And she said, This is the "Farewell Tour" how many years ago?? yea, right, you go girl! Bonnie Raitt, while working at the World Famous Palomino Club, there she'd be, every weekend nite, strolling the bar, in those tight black leathers, shortly thereafter, to make her "comeback". I feel extremely fortunate to have be-freinded these people that so many people would just stand in a line to just see. But there is something that people, especially here in the south need to understand, when you grow up and live amongst these people, see them in the workplace, etc. we, at least I am just not impressed. Yes, its really nice to meet them, but its a way of life out there, especially when you work in the Industry. It was nothing to just go to the grocery store, and have to take a darn detour, because they were filming a movie down the street from your house. Its just life folks, it was my life. And I loved it!
