Musical influence from Brass construction to cameo, sly, rick james, rose royce, aurra, slave, Funkadelik,bar-kays,Con funk shun, Fatback... All funk bands of the late 70's and early 80's. First song: Brick house - Commodores All time fav: A little bit of you - Raydio, Angel in the sky - Rose royceStarted Bass at around 11. First bass at age 14, A Fender music master Bass. Black. Loved it. I was already a crazy slapper! I recall I could not listen (or like) a song without at least one pinchin' section (Carrie lucas "show me where ur coming from" or dynasty's "strokin', or cheryl lynn "encore" ...aaaaah!!! and rufus, and chaka, and That Fender jazz bass of A taste of Honey jacket(i don't recall that girl name... Hazel Payne! I think...))I actually started my first band with the Bergen brothers at age 14 in Outremont, MTL. We used to play cameo stuffs and some police (what a mix!!)ASL my first Bass mentor! I used to follow him and his bro' felix with their band " OGOGORO gang" a whole summer back in '84,in Paris. I used to listen religiously to all he did. and try to reproduce it back home; He's the one who actually introduced me to Jazz fusion and rock. Stanley, Jaco... One day he put one Lonnie Linton Smith vinyl on. Bam!!! Marcus Miller... I'm still hooked!Music has always been my world. Private that is. I've lived in it, watched so many live shows I can't count. Seen everyone and everybody. My bass guitar was and still is my best friend; Always carried it around. Always playing, funkin'.I am a Marcus Miller Fan. But my main influence as a player ,no doubt: Aaron Mills and Larry Blackmond of Cameo. MY foundations of the groove. There are too many great guys i like in Bass. I can't name them all, but my props to my brothers ASL, Etienne, Richard,Habib. Such roles models for any african musicians! It's been a certain while now that I am back in my home country. Finished studies, lost father.. Time was up. Had to go back. Choice of life. Today I am a financial and Business Analyst.Living in Douala for 13 years... Square life, responsibilities and stuff... Very far from what I have known and lived...But you know what? Still Bassin' & groovin', for funk Stakes!
