Timo Kotipelto se narodil 15. brezna 1969 v Lappajarvi, Finsko. Kdyz mu bylo 13 let, rodice mu koupili bubny, na kterych hral az do sestnacti let.
Pak ho nekteri z pratel (se kterymi v te dobe hral) presvedcovali, ze by mohl zpivat a hrat zaroven na bubny. Tvrdi, ze byl dost naivni, kdyz neco takoveho zkousel. Samozrejme, ze to nefungovalo.
Pozdeji se nasel ve studiu vokalu. Uvedomil si, ze se mu to hodne libilo.
V roce 1992 ukoncil studium na pop/jazz konzervatori v Helsinkach. Nasledujici leto 1994 se pripojil ke Stratovarius, kteri uz byli ve studiu a nahravali 'Fourth Dimension'.
Od te doby bylo vydano nekolik dalsich alb a meli mnoho koncertu.
Prvni solove album 'Waiting for the Dawn' vyslo v roce 2002. Druhe album 'Coldness' bylo vydano v roce 2004. V soucasne dobe (duben 2007) bylo vydano treti album 'Serenity'.
Well, I was born in Lappajarvi, Finland. I went through the Finnish school system (college etc). When I was 13 my parents bought me drums which I played until I was sixteen.
Then, some of my friends (with whom I played at the time) made me believe that I could sing and play drums at the same time. I was foolish enough to try that. Of course, it didn't work.
It seems that I was an even bigger fool when I quit playing drums and concentrated solely on singing. By accident, I later found myself studying vocals/music. I noticed that I pretty much liked it!
That's how I ended up studying vocals in Helsinki at the pop/jazz conservatory. That was in autumn of 1992. The following summer in 1994, I joined Stratovarius when they were already in the studio recording "Fourth Dimension".
Since then some more albums have been released (if you are interested, check out www.stratovarius.com. I don't want to go through all them now) and we toured a lot.
My first solo album Waiting for the Dawn came out in 2002. The second album Coldness was released 2004. At the moment I am working on my third album.
