Jeremy Fratti became interested in music at a very early age, attributed to a musical family. He first picked up an alto saxophone at age 9 and has never looked back. Inspired by Charlie Parker and John Coltrane, he developed a strong passion for jazz, and started studying with Miami Saxophoinist Gary Keller while still in high school. Deciding to continue his education in music, Jeremy settled at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, to study with jazz legend Bunky Green. Playing the solo tenor saxophone chair for the internationally acclaimed UNF JE1, Jeremy got to perform with some of the best the jazz field has to offer, such as Kenny Garrett, Benny Green, Russell Malone, Slide Hampton, Ed Calle, Dave Brubeck, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, the YellowJackets, as well as many others. In the summer of 2005, Jeremy had the opportunity to tour China for ten days with the JE1, ending with a performance on the Great Wall! He has performed at the Monterey, Savannah, North Texas and Jacksonville Jazz Festivals, as well as the 2006 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. In 2007, Jeremy was selected as a finalist for the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors. Jeremy's versatility allows him to perform in r&b/fusion and gospel settings as well, where he has performed in groups regularly. Offered a graduate assistantship from New Jersey City University, Jeremy is currently exploring the New York music scene and studying with saxophonist Bob Malach while working toward his Master's degree. Since his move to New York, Jeremy has performed in various venues in the New York/New Jersey area, most notably the Blue Note, Trumpets Jazz Club, and the Iridium Jazz Club with the Jazz Conceptions Orchestra. He was also recently featured on WBGO's special on jazz education in schools. Jeremy, one of the co-founders of the Jazz Conceptions Orchestra, is very proud to be a part of a band which is comprised of such great musicians whom are also some of his best friends!
