About Me

I've been a musician for almost 33 years. Music is my life. There is nothing that has brought me greater joy and satisfaction. I'm a multi-instrumentalist and a composer of instrumental music as I have the time. I studied music composition at Colorado State University for awhile. My main instrument is the electric guitar but I also play mandolin, flute, bass, and piano. I am a private guitar and mandolin instructor in Colorado. The styles of music I love and teach are rock, blues, classical, and bluegrass. My main inspiration musically has been the legendary rock group Chicago. I am a HUGE fan and have been since 1974. They are the most incredibly gifted musicians I have ever listened to. Their sophistication, talent, and dedication to their art and their fans is unmatched by any other music group. Listening to Terry Kath (their original guitarist) was what prompted me to first pick up a guitar. Not to mention that I believe Robert Lamm is the greatest and deepest songwriter on the planet. I am also a huge fan of the rock group Heart. They were another one of my musical influences. I truly believe that Ann and Nancy Wilson have done more for women in music than any other female players, and for that I am eternally grateful! There is no other female guitarist that has the grace, musical instinct, or aggression on the guitar that Nancy Wilson does. My favorite musicians are Keith Howland, Jason Scheff, Jasco, and Nancy Wilson. Keith and Jason are the guitarist and bassist for Chicago and are IMMENSELY talented - what they can do musically makes my jaw drop. Jasco is an AMAZING Colorado blues guitarist who plays in a number of blues groups. All of these players have had a significant impact on my style of guitar.
